Super Full Lunar Eclipse
The full moon will occur this Thursday, August 27, at 9:18 p.m. PDT along the Leo-Aquarius axis (sidereal astrology). There will also be a partial lunar eclipse between 6:23 p.m. and 0:01 a.m. PDT. The eclipse will reach its peak at 9:12 pm. It will therefore be visible throughout the Americas. Lunar eclipses always occur during a full moon, when the Earth is positioned between the Moon and the Sun, and the Earth’s shadow covers the Moon’s surface. Eclipses are moments when portals open, creating favorable conditions for spiritual activities, which are amplified during these periods. Although it is tempting to watch this celestial spectacle, it is said that exposing oneself to the rays of an eclipse is detrimental to physical and psychological health. This will be the last one until February 2027.
The Moon’s alignment with Rahu (the north node) can make us more restless, heighten our imagination, and amplify our emotions—especially since Uranus will form a square with the Sun, the Moon, and Mercury, making this period unpredictable and turbulent.
The full moon will occur in the portion of Aquarius known as Shatabhishak (the star Formalhaut), which means “a hundred remedies.” This star is associated with physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual healing! Its symbol is a white circle, which invites us to feel our oneness with all that is and our sense of wholeness. It is ruled by Varuna, the god of cosmic and earthly waters. The symbol of this constellation is a white circle, conducive to meditation and silence. We may feel a stronger desire to be by ourselves during this full moon period.
Mercury will accompany the Sun and the South Node in the constellation of the ancestors, known as Magha in Vedic astrology. This is a time to reconnect with them and not forget all that they have passed down to us. It is also a time to revisit our ancestral karma in order to release it. The South Node with Mercury can bring confusion, so this is not the time to make major decisions between now and September 8.
The astrological outlook for September looks promising, with Venus entering her home sign of Libra on the 2nd and remaining there for the entire month, and Mercury entering its sign of exaltation (Virgo) from September 7 to 25. The heart chakra (creativity, love, partnerships) and the throat chakra (communication, business, purification, manifestation) will be activated for the better. Happy full moon to everyone!
