May- Full Moon
This will be the second full moon of the month, on Sunday, May 31, at 1:45 a.m. PDT. It will be aligned with the constellation Scorpio (sidereal astrology), a sign associated with death, regeneration, and intense emotions. The Moon is in a weakened position in Scorpio and may therefore trigger hypersensitivity, restlessness, vulnerability, and emotional insecurity. The opposition of Uranus and the quincunx of Mars can make us unpredictable and cause us to act impulsively! We must channel these deep emotions that may resurface! On a more positive note, the aspect of Mars will inspire us to take action on our projects.
The full moon will occur in the lunar constellation (nakshatra) called Anuradha. Anuradha means “disciple of the divine spark.” It is linked to Radha, Krishna’s beloved, and signifies devotion to the Self. Its symbol is the lotus, which is the most beautiful of flowers, yet grows in the mud. It signifies the transformation of ugliness into beauty, transmutation, alchemy—like compost that turns manure into flowers and fruit! We must draw from the reservoir of infinite love found in our hearts, which heals all wounds. This is the perfect time to sing devotional songs, which are powerful medicine for the heart!
Anuradha is also ruled by Mithra, the god of friendship. It is a good time to take care of our friends and express our appreciation and love to them! Mithra is also the Divine Friend who dwells deep within us, who accompanies us through life, and in whom we can place our trust at all times!
The highlight of this full moon is Jupiter’s entry into its sign of exaltation, Cancer! Jupiter changes constellations once a year. It enters Cancer every 12 years. This great benefic will therefore shower us with its rays of wisdom, spirituality, and kindness from now until November, and then again from February to July 2027. Everyone will benefit, and the area of life that is affected depends on where Cancer is located in your birth chart and the houses ruled by Jupiter. Starting next November, Jupiter will be conjunct Ketu, the planet of detachment and spiritual liberation. This will therefore be a very favorable period for global spiritual awakening! Happy Full moon to all!
