November- New Moon
November New moon
It will be the new moon this Wednesday, November 19, at 22:47 p.m. PST. It will be aligned with the constellation Scorpio, a sign of death, regeneration, and intense emotions. The moon is uncomfortable in Scorpio (“debilitated”) and can therefore awaken hypersensitivity, restlessness, vulnerability, and emotional insecurity. The opposition of Uranus can make us unpredictable, irritable, and rebellious, but it can also give us inspiration and new ideas!
Something exceptional during this new moon: Mercury, which represents our intellect (buddhi), will be perfectly aligned with the moon (Manas) and the Sun (atma or soul), which is called “cazimi” and is very favorable. This configuration invites us to dive deep within ourselves, with the light of consciousness and the soul, the benevolent presence, to revisit all the dark, swampy, and stagnant places, repressed emotions, unhealthy attachments, grudges, poorly digested and toxic experiences... in order to get this energy flowing again. The nakshatra Anuradha, where this alignment will take place, is represented by a lotus: the most beautiful flower, but one that grows in mud. It symbolizes the transmutation of ugliness into beauty, alchemy, like compost that transforms manure into flowers and fruit. Anuradha means “disciple of the divine spark.” It is linked to Radha, Krishna's beloved, and signifies devotion to the Self.
Devotion, in astrology, is represented by the water signs, which will be in the spotlight during this new moon with a beautiful trine between the Sun, Moon, Mercury, and Mars (Scorpio), Saturn and Neptune (Pisces), and Jupiter (Cancer). Water also represents emotions and feelings. The benevolent aspects of the planets will help us to release and heal all these repressed emotions and allow the source of love that we truly are to flow again.
This is what the many retrograde planets invite us to do (Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune): you may have noticed more delays and obstacles in your external life, but this is so that we can dive deeper into our inner selves, slow down or even stop, resolve unresolved issues, and finish what is unfinished. Mercury and Saturn will return to direct motion around November 29, and the energy should gradually clear up. Happy new moon to all!
