December - Full Moon
Super full moon of passion and devotion
It will be the last full moon of the year on today, December 4 at today at 3:14 p.m. PST. This full moon is called the “full moon of the long night,” the “full moon of the oak,” or the “cold full moon.”
This full moon will be special for three reasons: it will be a “supermoon” and will appear larger and brighter because it will be at its perigee, very close to Earth! Next, the full moon of December 2025 will be the highest full moon in the northern hemisphere until 2042! Finally, it will be in its sign of exaltation, making it very positive and powerful.
The full moon will be aligned with the constellation of Taurus (sidereal astrology), in the lunar constellation (nakshatra) Rohini, its favorite. Rohini means red, and it is aligned with the star Aldebaran, the eye of Taurus, a red giant.
Rohini is ruled by Brahma the Creator and brings a lot of creativity. This full moon is also conducive to romance, sensuality, and, on a higher level, devotion. Indeed, Rohini is the constellation of Krishna, the Beloved who seduces us with his divine flute that resonates deep within us! In India, this full moon is called Margashirsha Purnima, and in the Bhagavad-Gita, Krishna says, “Among the 12 months, I am the month of Margashirsha.” It is therefore a full moon that is closely linked to bhakti (devotion) and love, both human and divine.
The energy of Scorpio is still in the spotlight until December 15, with the Sun, Mercury, and Venus all in this sign. It is still a time to dive deep into the depths during this period conducive to introspection. Indeed, this part of Scorpio (the star Antares) corresponds to the tail, where there is poison that can kill or heal! This star is ruled by Indra, the king of the gods who fights demons. It is a very shamanic star that compels us to confront our shadow sides and inner demons (fears, attachments, obsessions, addictions, repressed emotions).
Mars transits Sagittarius from December 7 to January 14. We will be more inclined to take action and fight for causes, especially since we have been out of retrograde energy since November 29. External life should be more fluid. Happy super full moon to allOne of the names for the moon in Sanskrit is “Soma”, which is also a nectar that brings healing, inspiration, and ecstasy. The rays of this full moon are said to be very beneficial and therapeutic, and it is recommended to take “moon baths” or drink water that has been exposed to it. Happy full moon!
