September - New Moon
New moon of the equinox
It will be a new moon this Sunday, September 21, at 12:54 p.m. PDT. At the same time, there will be a partial solar eclipse between 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. In Canada, it will not be visible, but we will nevertheless feel its effects in the form of fatigue, insomnia, anxiety, agitation, and digestive problems. It is said that nothing important should be done during an eclipse, but that spiritual activities undertaken during this period are tenfold. The fall equinox will take place the following day, September 22 at 11:19 a.m. PDT.
It will be an eclipse with Ketu, the south node, which represents the past, the ancestral lineage, the already known. It ends the Pitru Paksha period, which has been ongoing since the last full moon, the period dedicated to ancestors. It is a time to honor them, but also to let go of the past and release ancestral and transgenerational karma.
The eclipse will take place in the constellation of Virgo with Mercury, bringing purification, idealism, order, organization, healing, and service to others. It is a time to do some serious cleaning and get rid of unnecessary and cluttering objects. This process is truly beneficial, and you will feel a sense of lightness and liberation from the past. It is an earth sign that gives us a taste for being practical and manifesting our ideals and projects. This constellation is also linked to healing, making it a good time to improve our health, break bad habits, undergo treatments, and, for therapists, integrate new approaches.
Virgo honors the Divine Feminine and corresponds, in India, to Navaratri, the 9 days of the Divine Mother, which will take place from September 22 to October 2. It is a time to celebrate women, both externally and internally, regardless of our gender, because the woman within us corresponds to the right hemisphere of the brain: intuition, creativity, feelings, emotions, multidimensionality. Let us therefore strive to activate this hemisphere more fully to bring more beauty and inspiration into this world.
The new moon will take place in the lunar constellation (nakshatra) UttaraPhalguni, ruled by Aryaman, one of the 12 adityas (sons of the sun) who takes the form of a friend and supporter. This constellation gives us the desire to help others and make a difference in the world. At the same time, it reminds us of the Divine friend and supporter we all have within us, at all times, whom we can rely on and confide in. It is said that the goddess Lakshmi was born under this star, which is therefore associated with abundance in all its forms. The symbol of this constellation is a marital bed, and it is therefore linked to marriage. In India, it is said that you should never sleep on a broken bed, as it can bring bad luck in love! Happy equinox to all!
